The best ways to remove baby food stains
Use these removal techniques for mixed-ingredient baby foods, such as assorted vegetables or mixed cereal with apples and bananas. For single-ingredient baby foods, such as carrots or apple sauce, consult the appropriate stain-removal entry.
Fabric
Presoak in cold water and liquid laundry detergent then wash on a warm setting. If the stains remain, pretreat with a prewash stain remover or rub liquid laundry detergent into the stain and wash again.
Upholstery
Using a clean white cloth, sponge the stain with a proprietary dry-cleaning solvent and blot until the solvent is absorbed. Keep sponging and blotting until the stain disappears.
OR
Mix one tablespoon of washing up liquid with two cups of cool water.
Using a clean white cloth, sponge the stain with the detergent solution and blot until the liquid is absorbed. Keep sponging and blotting until the stain disappears. Sponge with cold water and blot dry.
Carpet
Using a clean white cloth, sponge the stain with a proprietary dry-cleaning solvent and blot until the solvent is absorbed. Repeat this process until the stain disappears. Sponge with cold water and blot dry.
