Stain Buster Baby Formula
The best ways to remove baby formula stains
Fabric
Pretreat with a prewash stain remover containing enzymes or soak for at least 30 minutes in a solution using an biological laundry detergent. Wash as usual. If the stain remains, let the item air-dry, and then treat again with a prewash stain remover. Wash on the hottest possible setting for that fabric, adding bleach if safe for the fabric.
Upholstery
Mix one tablespoon of washing up liquid with two cups of cool water. Using a clean white cloth, sponge the stain with the detergent solution and blot until the liquid is absorbed. Keep sponging and blotting until the stain disappears. Sponge with cold water and blot dry.
Carpet
Mix one tablespoon of washing up liquid with two cups of warm water. Using a clean white cloth, sponge the stain with the detergent solution and blot until the liquid is absorbed. Keep sponging and blotting until the stain disappears or is no longer absorbed into the cloth. If the stain remains, mix one tablespoon of ammonia (warning: never mix bleach and ammonia the resulting fumes are hazardous) with two cups of warm water. Sponge the stain with the ammonia solution and blot until the liquid is absorbed. Sponge with cold water and blot dry.
Treat baby-formula stains promptly. If left to set, they will be permanent.
