Stain Buster Tobacco
The best ways to remove tobacco stains
Fabric
Dampen the stain and rub with a bar of soap. Rinse. Pretreat or soak with biological laundry liquid for at least 30 minutes. Wash as usual. If the stain remains, wash again with bleach if it's safe for the fabric.
Upholstery
Mix one tablespoon of washing up liquid with two cups of cool water. Using a clean white cloth, sponge the stain with the detergent solution. Leave for about 30 minutes, then blot until the liquid is absorbed. Keep sponging and blotting until the stain disappears. Sponge with cold water and blot dry to remove the detergent solution.
Carpet
Using a clean white cloth, sponge the stain with a proprietary dry-cleaning solvent and blot until the solvent is absorbed. Sponge with cold water and blot dry.
Tough tobacco
For stubborn tobacco stains, let the fabric air-dry, then apply glycerine to the stain, rub lightly and then wash.
